Derby Carruthers, born in Vancouver, BC. Worked for 25 years as an executive for major corporations in Canada. Changed careers in 2001 to teach English and manage one of the biggest ESL schools in Toronto. Started Language School of Canada in 2005, and presently teaches Advanced ESL and Pronunciation.

Martin Sulev grew up in Toronto, Ontario. Taught ESL for 3 years in Wuhan, China, as well as Pusan, Korea. Returned to Canada in 2000 to teach ESL and work as an Administrator at one of the largest ESL schools in Toronto. Started Language School of Canada in 2005, and presently teaches TOEFL, Advanced Speaking and Writing.

Kristen grew up in tobacco country in LaSalette, Ontario. Taught ESL in Columbia for 3 years. Returned to Canada in 2006, and presently teaches TOEFL, Speaking and Writing.

James was born in Chicago, USA. Worked on many documentaries and Hollywood films before becoming a teacher in 2007. James is also working on his Masters of Education at the University of Toronto. He currently teaches Comprehensive ESL, Grammar, and Writing.

Dave grew up in Kitchener, Ontario. Taught ESL in Japan and Gimpo, Korea for 3 years. Returned to Canada in 2007, and began teaching at LSC. He teaches Comprehensive ESL, Speaking, and Idioms / Vocabulary.

Brad was born in Stratford, Ontario. Taught ESL in Kaohsiung, Taiwan for 12 years. Returned to Canada in 2006 and began teaching at LSC. Presently, he teaches TOEFL and Writing.

Sakae was born in Hiroshima, Japan. She presently works as the Office Coordinator, and is always able to help students with whatever questions they may have.

Wendy was born in Mexico City. She came to Canada in 2006 and presently works as the Spanish Language Counsellor, helping Spanish speaking students adjust to life in Toronto.

Maggie
